Presented by The Recording Academy every year, The Grammy (recording industry's most prestigious award) is awarded in a voting system to honor excellence in the recording arts and sciences. Considered to be the highest honor available in the music industry, the Grammy is awarded by and to artists for artistic or technical achievement, not sales or chart positions, therefore the music itself is honored, not it’s success.

MTV holds annual award shows for movies & music to celebrate the great performances of the artists involved. The music awards show from MTV is called the 'Video Music Awards', or VMA’s, which usually takes please late August / early September.
